The U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the Justice Department are suing TikTok and ByteDance TikTok’s parent company. For breaking the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The law requires platforms to inform and get the consent of parents prior to collecting or together personal information from children who are under 13.
